Gift Ideas

Melissa Wiley over at “Here in the Bonny Glenn” has posted, a “Best Gifts for Homeschoolers Master List“. If you are looking for ideas, be sure to visit her site for suggestions.

One suggestion a family membership is always a good fit, especially since so many museums have reciprocal programs that allow you to use your membership at other museums. You can visit the Association of Children’s Museums to check out their Reciprocal Programs, along with a list of participating museums here or check out your favorite museum to see if they have a similar program.

With just a little more investigation, I also found this list of the 2007 North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) Program. We live near Cleveland, so I visited a few of our museums to check on their reciprocal memberships. I’ll list Cleveland Museum of Art , not only because it is one of my favorities, but also as a quick thanks to them for their generous donations to the Ohio Gathering we had here in October.

One thing I’ve heard others do is to check on the museums they plan to visit and see if there are any recipcrocal museums across the country with a less expensive membership they can purchase.
