“What do you think is NASA’s greatest exploration achievement in the past 50 years and why?†is the question that drives the Second Annual 21st Century Explorer Podcast Competition. What will students create for the competition? Students may choose to enter either a 60-second audio or video podcast that answers the question above. Who may participate? Podcasts created by students ages 11-18 will be entered into one of two divisions: ages 11-14 and ages 15 – 18. Within each division are two separate categories: audio podcast and video podcast. Only United States citizens may enter this competition and students under 18 need written consent from a parent or guardian. How long does the competition run? This competition runs from October 1 through January 4, 2008. However, the competition ends after the first 1,000 entries are submitted in each category. Are there prizes? First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded in each category and age group. An additional “People’s Choice Award†will honor one podcast for each age division. Where can more information be found? More details and the entry form can be found at the 21st Century Explorer Podcast Competition website at http://www.explorationpodcast.com.
