Missing Money Education

“Your children are going back to school, and they probably have some

pretty good teachers. But who’s teaching them about money?” So asks

Alan Wolan, an investor, entrepreneur, success coach, and educator,

who is the author of Moneyology 1: A Kid’s Guide to Money, the first

book in an illustrated series that’s designed to provide the

foundation children need to become financially-savvy, prosperous and

successful adults. “Oddly enough, basic financial education is not

taught in schools. Parents, grandparents, and other caretakers must

take it upon themselves to provide children with the tools to learn

sound financial habits.” Wolan is available for interviews in which

he will offer tips for introducing children to the concept of money

as the school year begins.

  • Unschooling
Defining unschooling is a little like describing a color, and every bit as elusive. You can rely on commonly-held descriptions; for example, we generally all agree what blue looks like, but what about cobalt, aqua, navy, cyan, sapphire, azure, indigo, cerulean, turquoise or cornflower? It’s the same with unschooling. There’s a generally accepted definition, […]
