A practical website geared towards homeschooling and traveling with

gifted and talented students. It includes many tips and ideas about

gifted homeschooling. There are several pages on identifying and

assessing a gifted student at home. There are pages that have ideas

about high school record keeping and navigating through homeschooling

through the teen years. There are pages that have ideas about traveling

and homeschooling. There are many, many references to excellent book

choices related to the ideas on the pages. The website is current and

periodically updated with what works for this homeschooling family.

Another resource constantly updated and closely related to

www.brightkidsathome.com is their blog called Travelin’ With the Kid

[blog.brightkidsathome.com]. What you’ll find there are the tales of

travels that are part of this families homeschool. Their adventures

abroad, nationally and in their own backyard are described with humor

and photography.

Also related to the Bright Kids at Home website is a free monthly

newsletter called The Eclectic Telegraph (www.eclectictelegraph.com)

featuring ideas, articles and links to other reading about educating

bright kids and teens at home. Done with humor and blunt observations,

the writing is either very conservative or very liberal – the author

claims that eventually she’ll please or offend -everyone.

All three from a mom who has been homeschooling a highly gifted student

for almost a decade.
