Suffering from paroxysms of guilt?

I was just reading Self-Inspired Learning by KarenVogel in the latest issue of Home Education Magazine when I came upon this  sentence:

As most of my friends know, I regularly suffer paroxysms of guilt over my complete neglect of science as a school subject.

I have heard that a lot over the years.  (Actually, I usually just hear fits of guilt, but I like Karen’s choice of the word paroxysm so much better. )

I usually share HEM’s  recent articles  and free online content at the HEM Support Blog, but I just had to share  Karen’s humorous and insightful look at child led learning  in Self-Inspired Learning here as a resource.

Speaking of child-led learning,  I just want to remind everyone that there are a variety of categories to the right, including science and many of the resources that have been listed at this blog are free.  One thing we have done over the years to encourage child led learning over the years was to mine the environment so to speak by leaving choice resources laying around to share with each other.   Now we also send each other interesting links via email.  I guess that is one of the reasons we often referred to the way we learned not only as child-led, but family led.
