Maglev (magnetic levitating) trains are an exciting introduction to some fascinating concepts involving magnetism, physics, mechanics, and more! The fundamental basics of maglev trains are simple, and building your own model of a maglev train can be a fun and interesting project. A very simple version can be made with a few dollars worth of magnets and a handful of common household materials.
