As the most powerful search engine online, searching is at the heart of everything done at Google. Their engineers work every day to solve the hardest search problems, and thus improve your online experience, and they’ve built in shortcuts to many of the most popular searches. A few favorites include:

Dictionary: To see a definition for a word or phrase, simply type the word “define” followed by the word(s) you want defined.
Time: To see the time in many cities around the world, type in “time” and the name of the city.
Fill in the Blank: Sometimes the best way to ask a question is to get Google to fill in the blank by adding an asterisk (*) at the part of the sentence or question that you want finished into the Google search box.
