8-Year-Old Plays Tiny Tim Twice is the headline at WXIA-TV ATLANTA. The 8-year old, Tendal Mann is also an unschooler who has seen the play every year and told his Mom a couple of years ago that he wanted to play the part of Tiny Tim. This year he tried out and won the part and it sounds as if he is a natural.
Learning comes natural to him as well.
“His parents believe life is a series of teachable moments and that Tendal takes full advantage of them.
“He’s gaining so much in terms of his literacy skills, in terms of storytelling skills,” said Tendal’s dad, Barry Stewart Mann. “Certainly his maturity. His sense of responsbility for himself.”
One thing he’s learning is to appreciate what little it takes to make Tiny Tim happy.
“He’s poor and it’s really exciting every Christmas when they get Christmas punch and goose because usually they just only have soup or something,” suggests Tendal.
A timely lesson for even the tiniest observers. “
If you are in or near Atlanta, it sounds like this is one Christmas Carol you won’t want to miss.
