TVCC Approves Memorandum of Understanding, Approves Private and Home School Students for Scholarships
Forney Post/ March 24, 2009
By approving the MOU, Trustees established the scholarship eligibility criteria.
i. Be a resident of the TVCC taxpaying district;
ii. Earn at least 24 dual credit hours in a TVCC taxpaying district high school;
iii. Earn and maintain at least a 2.50 grade point average in dual credit and college courses;
iv. Have been awarded a scholarship from another group, foundation, or organization.”
In a memorandum released this morning, the TVCC said, “Recently an inquiry has been made whether students attending private schools and home schooled students who live in the taxpaying district who earn 24 credit hours through TVCC prior to high school graduation, achieve a 2.50 grade point average, and have been awarded a scholarship would be eligible for the scholarships provided by TVCC.”
After consideration, the TVCC Board of Trustees included language into the MOU that includes private and home school students, so long as they meet the eligibility requirements.
