PANAJI: Their day may start with composting or bird watching, pottery or piano, anything but textbooks and homework. Homeschooling is an alternative to studying in schools, which some parents believe provides a more interactive and learning environment to children. In India, the concept of homeschooling is not new, but is less known and scattered.
Goa too has been breeding some parents who have happily opted to homeschool their kids providing them with tailored education. Porvorim resident Valentine Coelho along with his wife Anna has home-schooled his five kids, starting some 18 years ago.
