Kids take snake class, 16 September 2007, Lansing State Journal, Lansing, Michigan
“Snake Search,” which let children explore the world of reptiles, was the first of three fall programs for home-schooled students.
Assistant naturalist Brian McMillan, an East Lansing High School and Michigan State University graduate, helped lead the session.
“Kids are very interested (in nature),” McMillan said.
That was evident from the way the youngsters clamored to touch the scales of a discarded snake skin or feel the snakes themselves. McMillan brought out two, including an Eastern milk snake native to Michigan named Max.
