Local Library Starts 2014 With New Books

Rister home schools her children and belongs to the Harrisburg Organization of Parent Educators, also known as HOPE. Rister says some of the parents from the group have to travel to get the books they need. So, HOPE held a book drive for the library.
“We try to organize community service and mission projects as we can, where we feel the need is. And so this was one need that was brought to our attention and we felt passionate about it,” says Rister.
[Library business manager] Shaw says the property taxes and grant money that fund the library are not enough to pay for all the books they need.
