Homeschooled kids take 1st in NJ robotics competition

Robotics team beats 44 teams, 11 February 2008, Bridgewater Courier News, Bridgewater, New Jersey

A team of seven home-schooled teenagers brought back the first place trophy after competing against 44 teams in the state Regional Robotics Championships.

The home-schooled team, called Team Overdrive, included Tyler Moser, 17, and James Wittel, 15, of Bridgewater; Kevin Fritz, 15, of Hillsborough; Bethany Shotyk, 16, of Piscataway; Gina and Marissa Scalzo, 15 and 16, respectively, of Kenilworth; and David Schmidt, 16, of Union.
