First nose-counting, then public school expulsions

I wonder how the number of public school expulsions affects the ‘growth of homeschooling?’

The school promised to send a tutor once a week, but no one showed up for several weeks, the family said.

The grandmother, who is a substitute teacher and a paraprofessional, copied down assignments and details from classrooms she works in so she could bring them home.

“He needed help,” Hancock said. “We’re trying to home-school him, but we ain’t no teachers.

“He has an anger problem. I know that. I wanted him to be tested (for special-education help), but they told me I didn’t want him to have that label, that it would follow him for 50 years.”

The idea of comparing expulsions with ‘homeschool growth’ was enhanced for me because this article directly followed the North Carolina article (below) in the Google news alert email.
