A group of World War II and Pearl Harbor survivors want to make certain that today’s Americans, particularly the youth, learn of the significance of that day.
"Freedom is never free," said 16-year-old Tyler Sain, the county winner of this year’s essay competition on the significance of Pearl Harbor. "People died protecting our freedom."

Sain, son of Randy and Leanna Sain of Zirconia, received $100 as the county overall winner and an additional $100 as the homeschool winner.
