In the April 1 edition (no, it was NOT an April Fool’s joke) this zinger quote was included in commentary noting that sales of children’s books rose during Spring Vacation and Easter Vacation.
"’Whenever the children are out of school, we see a pickup in sales and traffic in our children’s department,’ explains Josalyn Moran, director of children’s books for Barnes & Noble. So what we’re saying, essentially, is that if you want kids to read, you’ve got to get ’em out of school. Hmm."
What we’ve been saying for years, but with a market twist? Hmm is right.
