“By sending your child to school you are essentially passing that responsibility over to the school. When you home educate you are taking that responsibility back.
“To do it, you don’t have to be rich, you don’t have to be a teacher. In our group we have got all sorts of people. To be honest you have just got to have an interest in their schooling and what is best for them. Beyond that you can learn as you go.”
She said: “The main reaction I get from people is ‘how could you be with them all day?’, but I’ve always enjoyed their company.
