Helau!!! (which sounds, to American ears, like ”Helloooo!”) Finally the end of the season which begins on the 11th minute of the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
I’ve been in this country too long. I forgot about Rosenmontag in Germany. This is when Karneval, Fasching (the site’s irritating yellow ad takes a little while to go away) and Fastnacht are celebrated. You might know it better as Mardi Gras. What? You didn’t know that right before Lent the Germans went nuts, too? Obviously, you’ve never had your necktie snipped in half by scissors-bearing ladies on Weibernacht.Â
But our Carnival here in happy homeschool-land isn’t quite as rambunctious, and no one is in any danger of having his best silk necktie snipped off right below that Windsor knot. You can click on over to Why Homeschool for the ninth week of the Carnival of Homeschooling.
Still, consider me yelling “Helauuuu!!!” and pelting you with virtual candy.
