Home-school families find support, 29 August 2007, Marion Chronicle Tribune, Marion, Indiana
When Mary Peiffer began home-schooling her children, there were just more than 4,400 home-schooled children enrolled in Indiana.
Now in her 13th year of home-schooling, Peiffer’s children have much more company, and she’s formed a group to support parents and children in the area.
Latest data from the Indiana Department of Education shows there are more than 23,400 home-schooled children in the state.
But home-school teacher and mom Lisa Baker said not everyone registers with the state – she doesn’t.

The children who attended Tuesday’s meeting varied in age from 7 to 16, but they played various games as a group, including indoor floor hockey with chairs blocking off goals.
