A writer AND a mathematician! This is fun, Valerie.
I was glad to see Celeste Land as a spokesperson, that’s for sure.
It’s definitely ‘different.’ I’d seen the WSJ article earlier, but the thought of analyzing, fisking, commenting, whatevering, just didn’t appeal to me. “Ugh, ugh, ugh,” I thought. But when I decided to do a little catching up on unread Google alerts (“No, don’t make me read any alerts!”), it was the first one that popped up today, so I figured, what they hey. Let’s see how it stacks up on my handy-dandy point-thingy.
I pasted it in to a Word.doc, highlighted this, that and the other thing, checked the chart, plugged in the ‘points,’ and played with my little cyber-calculator (a mathematician, I ain’t). Lo and behold, the article came up positive. Freudian writing??
In any case, having a process to play with gives me something with which to crunch the articles for a change of pace. ;> I’m glad it’s amusing for you, too.
Never mind on the WSJ reference. (End of the day) + (finding a new author [Tana French] ) = not enough sleep. Someone take my typewriter away!
