Neubronner’s bank accounts blocked

Reports about the Neubronner family are at the Learning Freely Network blog, the information outlet through which Dagmar Neubronner releases information.

Germany At It Again: Neubronner accounts have been blocked!

Dear friends,

After the bailiff/ marshall could not find possessions to take away from us, today w[e] received news that our accounts have been blocked to impound the penalty payment of 4,500 € . So, our work as a publising house is blocked, too, and we cannot withdraw money to buy foods.

We invite to a press conference tomorrow, Friday 16th of November, at 11.30 at our attorney’s office …

Protest against the persecution of homeschoolers in Germany, 27 November 2007, Learning Freely Network

Media Statement by the Association for Homeschooling South Africa

The Association for Homeschooling, in co-operation with the Pestalozzi Trust legal defence fund for home education, has applied to the Tshwane Metro Police for permission to hold a protest meeting outside the Deutsche Schule (German School) in Pretoria on 30th November 2007.

The purpose of the meeting is to inform the German community of Pretoria of our protest against the persecution of homeschoolers in Germany under the pretext that they are establishing or continuing so-called “parallel societies”.

The Association also points out that the German state funds and supports the Deutsche Schule in Pretoria and similar German schools elsewhere in Africa, and even provides German homeschooling families in Africa with learning programmes. Clearly, the government of Germany is sustaining German “parallel societies” in Africa while oppressing homeschoolers in Germany under the pretext that homeschoolers (so they claim) are doing in Germany what Germany itself is in fact doing in African countries!

Germany: Neubronner Accounts freed!, 24 November 2007, Learning Freely Network

We just learned that our accounts are free again. We have not been informed about this. We found out about it accidentally, when we phoned with the fiscal officer, because even our electricity bill payment had been rejected. The fiscal officer was very astonished and told us, that the accounts should be free. We tested, and they really were. we don’t know from which time on, Thursday night or Friday. Probably the authority reacted to all the media reports and to the wonderful letters so many of you wrote! Thank you! Every cent that has been donated will be used to pay for the many legal charges that have accumulated until now.

We got written confirmation now from the responsible judge that custody will not be taken away without former hearing – this gives us a relative security. …

The issues facing homeschoolers today are fundamentally the same as 30 years ago when HEM was first published. But this is not always the case nor is it always easy to understand the bes […]
