		<description>Concerning Karen&#039;s comment, I saw this played out when we moved back to America.  I&#039;d been &#039;socializing&#039; with homeschooled kids for so long (see the last entry at: http://www.nhen.org/newhser/default.asp?id=402 ) that I forgot what it was like to talk to &#039;normal&#039; teens.  When our kids made local friends here before going off to college, I was surprised to see the distrust and ... &#039;shiftyness&#039; (for lack of a better word) when my husband and I tried talking with the kids&#039; new friends.  I felt like my husband and I were Good Cop and Bad Cop trying to get the drop on the perps.

As for Jeanne&#039;s comment, I&#039;ll put it on my List of Things To Do.  :)   (maybe it&#039;ll be a new blog category??)</description>

It is reported that a majority of these so-called &quot;schooled&quot; children have no idea how to interact with adults in a respectful manner.  Rather, they practice behaviors such as eye-rolling, snickering, and other forms of blatant disrespect when in the presence of grown-ups.  Moreover, their peer-group addiction encourages the proliferation of such behaviors.</description>
