Homeschool Buyers Co-op

Homeschool Buyers Co-op

I’m a mom who homeschools in New York and I’d like to make you aware of a brand new resource that will benefit all homeschooling families – the Homeschool Buyers Co-op.

By banding together, the homeschooling community can enjoy the purchasing power that the largest school districts in the country have. The Homeschool Buyers Co-op is making this a reality. The Co-op negotiates discounts from suppliers of products such as science kits, books, educational games, toys, curriculum, media, computers and software and notifies its members of these discounts. Membership is free to all homeschoolers and sign up requires no personal information. The Co-op is a not-for-profit entity and covers its operational costs by charging suppliers modest advertising fees.

The Co-op has begun receiving endorsements from homeschooling groups around the country and this growing list shows educational suppliers that there is a need for such a service. The key to future success of the Co-op is broad support – more members means greater discounts negotiated on behalf of the entire homeschooling community.

Over 1,600 homeschooling families signed up in the first week. Can you help by joining and letting your site members and homeschool friends know too? I think the Co-op will prove to be a great service. Please let me know what you think and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the Co-op.

Thank you so much,
Nancy Reddy

  • Staying Informed
The issues facing homeschoolers today are fundamentally the same as 30 years ago when HEM was first published. While communication is easier the underlying social question is, can parents be trusted with their kids? Our political positions will support this answer in the affirmative. But this is not always the case nor is it always easy to understand the bes […]
