A Homeschool Coalition?

Almost a month ago, on December 3, in the middle of a lengthy and involved discussion about federal legislation on the HEM-Networking list, I posted some thoughts about an idea which has been on my mind for a few years. The posted message is a long one, but in it I outlined my idea for “a homeschool coalition, comprised of support groups, organizations, businesses, interested individuals and other entities supporting homeschooling and the homeschool movement.”

Since that time there have been over four hundred posts made to the list, and my position has shifted slightly. If you go to the link above you can read everything in the list’s archives – it’s an interesting record of opinions by a significant part of the online homeschooling community. But even more importantly, the discussion is coalescing into action and the creation of something new and important to homeschooling’s future. Reading the archived posts would be helpful for building a perspective, but anyone interested in jumping into the discussion is welcome to join us right now at the HEM Networking discussion list.

  • Staying Informed
The issues facing homeschoolers today are fundamentally the same as 30 years ago when HEM was first published.
