I have always loved the idea of unit studies but have never felt successful at accomplishing one. I love the advice to delve in and give it all you got. Unfortunately I am the type that if I cannot do it perfectly, I would rather not do it. So many wonderful opportunities we are missing out on because of that. Definitely a quote worth sharing. By “moving on with HEM” we mean we’re continuing to make the kinds of changes which were planned long before the HEM web site was destroyed, such as the new Digital Edition of HEM, and adding some exciting new writers. As far as moving the magazine to Alaska, the business and financial parts of HEM have been there for a long time.

‘moving on with HEM’? What does this mean? Are you moving the magazine to Alaska, or are you selling it? I am a bit confused.

I didn’t realize I must have been one of your early subscribers! I remember finding a copy of HEM and some of the books on homeschooling you published at an small bookshop here in Milpitas in the fall of 1993. Later on, the bookshop owner “shopschooled” their daughter, too! (Only form of education that might be better than homeschooling: getting your education from mom at her bookstore, and getting to read everything on the shelves!) Now, where did I stash all my early copies? Sure hope they didn’t get tossed in a fit of neatness!

“Every so often someone will ask ME when I’m going to write …”

therefore:

“Every so often someone will ask Mark and ME when we’re going to write …”

(“Mark and I are going to write” would be correct, of course, just as “I am going to write” is correct.)

i read a seven year olds note to her aunt and uncle that was almost un-understandable.this child is being home schooled,or not by the childs mother.i woke up in the middle of the night,concerned for the childs future and what i should do?the immediate family is afraid to say anything due to future reprocussions.
