Science Friday is a weekly science talk show, broadcast live over public radio stations nationwide from 2 to 4 pm Eastern time as part of National Public Radio’s ‘Talk of the Nation’ programming. Each week, Science Friday focuses on science topics that are in the news and tries to bring an educated, balanced discussion to bear on the scientific issues at hand. Panels of expert guests join Science Friday’s host, Ira Flatow, a veteran science journalist, to discuss science – and to take questions from listeners during the call-in portion of the program.
Science Friday features videos, blogs, podcasts and other cool stuff, and NPR offers program transcripts at $3.95, delivered on a web page and in an email. NPR also offers a page of access options, with a list of stations that carry Science Friday, and information about how to listen to the program online.
And Science Friday’s Kids’ Connection presents a springboard to curriculum enhancements, extra credit projects, and an accelerated learning program for kids around grade levels 6 to 8.
