“There is an elephant in the room that many homeschooling families don’t want to talk about. As a sometimes defensive minority we may think: Why bring up a potentially divisive issue? But it may be another generation before homeschooling matures enough as a way of life that we feel comfortable discussing our differences. We prefer to present a united front to the world. Yet the issue of women’s roles in homeschooling is too important to leave our children to sort out later. Our daughters, in particular, deserve a more thoughtful approach.”
